About WFO Bear Hunt

Welcome to WFO Bear Hunt, situated in the "Heart of Bear Country"

Located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, WFO Bear Hunt is a diversified company offering Fall Black Bear hunts, Fall Archery-Only Moose hunts during the "RUT" and Timber Wolf hunts starting in January. Best of all, we boast a nearly 100% success rate since 1988. 

WFO Bear Hunt was started in 1988 by Rob Kotanen. Rob is retired from Ontario Hydro where he worked for nearly 30 years as a  Powerline Maintainer Foreman. Rob currently operates the "Northern" area of WFO's vast amount of hunting concession with great success. 

Garth Matyasovszky has been involved with WFO since 1991 as a guide in the beginning and now as a business partner, operating the "Southern" zone of WFO's hunting area. Garth is currently employed with Hydro One (formerly Ontario Hydro) and has been a Powerline Maintainer since 1990. 

Both Garth and Rob are passionate about hunting and they have both taken numerous Pope and Young animals.
